This is the time of the week where we share a scripture that stuck out to us. If you go to church and a scripture was read that was new to you, even if you have read it before, God will clarify it like you have never read it before. How did God highlight it for you now?  When you are in God’s word like this, your ears are open to hear all around you in a way that is different than the “dry seasons” of your life.  Maybe it was in a song, or your research, or from the Bible read,  or even on a bumper sticker….Please share.

  1. Our pastor made an analogy today that stuck with me. When driving across state listening to an FM radio station you will reach a point where the radio tower you were listening to is overtaken by a different radio station. Like an FM radio station -The further away you get from the kingdom of God the more static from the world you hear. The closer you get to the kingdom of this world the more the things of God are drowned out by the things of the world.

  2. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

I have 3 kids: 17, 15, 13. The amount of energy I have spent taking the time to make sure they get good teachers “I want them in a good class!” or with the right coach “I want a good coach, on the right team” but how little effort I have made to make sure they they are listening to the ONLY coach that matters and the ONLY team I want them to be on. My kids know sports! They really do. They know what you can do, what they will get yellow carded for (usually from listening to me when I yell “Oh no she didn’t, are you going to take that from her!….mother of the year) , how to train, and how to handle correction. But how little time, strategy, and effort I have put into them learning to listen for God’s whisper or reading their Bibles. 😣
